Cowboys 44-10 Bedlam Win Not Enough For BCS Championship Berth

Cowboys Will Play Stanford In Fiesta Bowl

(Stillwater, Okla) - Heading into Saturday night's Bedlam game against Oklahoma, it was probably a long shot at best for the Oklahoma State Cowboys to get to the BCS National championship game.

The Cowboys have turned in an impressive body of work for 2011, first ever Big 12 Championship, first time ever for a regular season with 11 wins, record setting performances by Quarterback Brandon Weeded and Receiver Justin Blackmon.

But ending the season with a 44-10 smack down of the then 10th ranked Sooners wouldn't be enough to push the Pokes past Alabama in the human polls that make up a strong part of the BCS formula.

OSU did gain some ground, but in the end, a matchup against former Cowboy Coach and current LSU Head Coach Les Miles was not to be, as the BCS Match ups were announced Sunday night.

Instead, the Cowboys are headed to Tempe, Arizona for the Fiesta Bowl against Stanford, a game that will feature two of top quarterbacks in the country, the aforementioned Brandon Weeded, and Heisman Hopeful Andrew Luck.
